    In the name of God Amen: I Levi Lancaster of Wayne County and State of North Carolina, Planter, weak of body but a sound mind and memory calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed unto men once to die and for the better settling my worldly estate do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows viz:
    Item: I lend my beloved wife Elizabeth the one half of my plantation lands whereon I now live with all its appurtenances and two houses one framed and the other a log house during her natural life and after her decease, I desire my daughter, Michal have the use of the framed house as long as she lives unmarried. I also lend her, my wife, one mare named Mank?, one cow and calf her choice one half of my sheep, one half of my working tools, two bed and furniture and after her decease, I give my daughter, Michal her choice of the two said beds and furniture. I also lend my wife one chest, one table, one loom, and after her decease, I give my daughter Michal the said chest and table and the said loom, I give to my son Bryan and my daughter Michal and the longest liver take the same forever. I also lend her my wife all the Chi ticking furniture during her natural life also one cotton wheels and cards and one flax do and after her decease I give the said wheels and cards to my daughter Michal. I also lend my wife one year’s provision.
    Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Michal two hundred dollars in cash also two feather beds and furniture two pots and one pan after the death of my wife, also after the death of my wife I give one Dutch oven, one skillet, one set of flat irons, one tub one pail, one board? tub, one meal sifter, one small dish and bason and all ? are in the kitchen.
    Item: I lend my son William two hundred acres of land during his natural life or as long as he has claim to live on it being part of a tract land containing two hundred and forty-three acres and the forty three acres is to be cut of on the lower side and if his wife should be the longest liver I desire her to have the use of the said two hundred acres during her widowhood or natural life (observe I only mean her to have her dower in said land the time above mentioned) and after my son William and his wife, Martha, is done with the above mentioned land and times I give and bequeath the same to my three g-sons, Levi Lancaster, William S. Lancaster, John B. Lancaster their heirs and assigns forever, to be equally divided between the three grandsons before named. It is my will and desire that if my son William should not see cause to live on the above mentioned land during his natural life, I desire my executor rent the same out and for him to receive the benefit as long as he lives yearly.
    Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Forehand fifty acres of land lying on the long branch the south side joining Bryan Lancaster line.
    Item: I give and bequeath my daughter, Betsey Radford fifty acres of land lying on the west side of the Whitney Branch and joining William Lancaster’s line.
    Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter, Catron Hollowell one hundred and fifty dollars.
    ITEM: I give and bequeath to my daughter, Mary one hundred and fifty dollars.
    ITEM: I lend to Clary Radford forty –four acres of land lying in a plot of land surveyed by Britton Hood for said Clary Radford during her natural life and after her decease I give the same to her heir lawfully begotten of her body. If any such heir and if no such heir, I give the same to my son Bryan. I give and bequeath to my son Bryan Lancaster two hundred and sixty-nine acres where I now live the one half at my death and the other after the death of my wife, Elizabeth. I also give said Bryan, my son, thirty four acres of land lying in the Coley tract. Also one Negro man named Isam, also one horse. I also give him all the property I have lent his mother after her decease that I have not heretofore given. I give him also all the remaining part of my property of every kind which I have not heretofore mentioned or given unto my son Bryan forever.
    Lastly I hereby appoint and nominate my two friends, Bryan Lancaster and Thomas Hollowell to be executors to this my Last Will and Testament disannulling and revoking all former wills or wills and bequest ratifying this and no other to be my last Will and Testament; whereunto I, the said Levi Lancaster, the testator have set my hand and fixed my seal this 27th day of September 1825.
